Xmode

Multiple modes -One platform

September -07
A new version of Simoco two-way radios has been released. Designed to meet the needs of global enterprise users, Xmode provides multiple analogue and digital operating modes from a single radio platform. XmodeSimoco Xmode terminals, SRP9100 portable and SRM9000 mobile, support P25 trunked and conventional operating modes in addition to the existing PMR and MPT1327 operating modes. AES and DES secure digital encryption, GPS tracking and mobile data are also supported in both trunked and conventional digital modes. Field performance is further enhanced by an intelligent voting algorithm, which ensures optimum receiver performance in low signal areas.

The Xmode is a cost-effective terminal for users, who are considering a move to P25 in the future as the various operating modes can be added on step by step without replacing the terminals. This flexibility has been put to great use by Public Safety organizations in Australia and overseas who need to temporarily extend the footprint of their existing wide-area radio networks to a local-area system stemming from their vehicle.

APCO P25 Digital Radio

21st July 2006

TMC Radio proudly announce the release of the SRM9022 Project 25 Conventional Multi-Mode Radio.

With the fitment of the new MAB-2 Option Board to an SRM9000 (Rev9) transceiver, the radio will support P25 Conventional Digital and also the existing analog PMR and MPT1327 Trunked systems, which will enable customers to cost effectively upgrade their analog radio systems to the new digital system.

Project 25 is a standard for Digital Two-Way Radio, and defines both Trunked and Conventional operating modes.  It is much the same as existing analog radio-comms but with a digitized data stream containing the voice transmission.  This gives the immediate advantage that voice can easily be encrypted, and mixed with other data transmissions.

Project 25 (P25) was developed under the guidance from the (American) "Association of Public Safety Communications Officials" (APCO) in conjunction with the (American) "Telecommunications Industry Association" (TIA), and is now a mandatory requirement for any radio equipment sold into the USA public safety sector.  Aside from the USA, P25 systems are being deployed in many other countries all around the world and is fast becoming the international standard for digital radio.

28th June 2005:

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive – 2002/96/EC (the WEEE Directive) affects manufacturers, distributors and users of electrical and electronic equipment in the E.U.

The objective of the WEEE Directive is to reduce the amount of waste arising from the use of electrical and electronic equipment and its impact on the environment.

TMC Radio's “Simoco” series of radios will shortly display a standardised symbol advising European customers that old, discarded equipment should be recycled and not placed in Rubbish Bins. Details of recycling programs are yet to be finalised in the WEEE Directive.

TMC Radio Pty. Ltd. is committed to the successful implementation and ongoing application of the WEEE Directive.
